Finance Counselling
All financial counselling services are the same across the board because they're government-funded—not private services—so every client has equal access.
Clients can speak with a financial counsellor for as long as needed—whether that’s a single 1-hour session or multiple sessions—until their situation is resolved.
Financial counselling is completely free and confidential, and can be done online or in person. It includes support with:
Understanding your financial goals
Budgeting and money management strategies
Tips for saving and reducing debt
Help with managing everyday expenses or unexpected financial changes
Assistance (if needed) with applying for hardship support, grants, or negotiating solutions like loan consolidation
What financial counsellors can’t do:
Provide financial or investment advice
Offer legal advice
Manage assets on your behalf
